Description Video Introduction

GINNUNGAGAP

GINNUNGAGAP is a chasm in the fog where there is neither sky nor earth, and the designer takes this as the meaning: when your life has a gray and depressed hue, I hope you have the courage to come back from the dead, even if it is a little shimmering light, it can gather up and light up the fog.

Design Inspiration

In the Nordic mythology, at the beginning of the world, there was no sky and no earth, only a Ginnungagap chasm in the fog. North of the chasm is the "Land of Fog" Niflheim, where there is a spring named Hvergelmir, the source of all rivers, one of which is said to have highly poisonous water "Eitr". Eitr turns into ice as it flows down the river to the Kinrenga Gorge, and the cold mist that comes out of the ice eventually stops flowing and turns into frost. In the intersection of hot steam and cold ice, Ymir, the ancestor of the giants, was born.
As the basic model of Asgard is also the origin of the story line of Asgard, the designer chose the "A" character in the Loon script as the design element, separated by a "chasm" in the middle, the top and bottom echo the "Land of Mist" and "Land of Fire" in the story respectively. The top and bottom echo the "Land of Fog" and "Land of Fire" in the story, so the product is named Ginnungagap.
